As It Rains In London.

Oh. Guess what? it's raining in London!
I am extremely affected by this weather condition because, to be honest with you, the last three months have been exceptional
when it comes to weather. It was not 'oh my god it's boiling', but it was more of a 'good morning sunshine' in the mornings that reminded you of the amazing summer that you spent away from this beloved island which we all admire and love, to search for the sun, along with the hopes of a better and more tanned future.

Well now, ALL of this is gone. I am looking out my window and the view is frankly, DEPRESSING. It is important to notice that it is 5.30 in the afternoon and it is already dark, (no wonder i'm writing a blog instead o
f going outside and being raped in an alley).
It has been pouring rain, and I am afraid that Noah is gonna come knocking on my door to tell me i gotta get on his arc and share a 'room, more like stable'
with the elephants...

So, this depression has lead me to do some surfing on the web and look for cool things to do when it's raining... and this is what I came up with. So don't forget that rain can be shitty, so instead, stay home, avoid the ponds, the slipping and the sneezing and swap it for a cuppa tea and a good tv or perhaps do some reading... i don't know.. everyone has their own idea of what enjoyment means.

GLEE CAST

This show is by far one of the funniest ones I have seen in a very long time. Glee features real singers and dancers in an epic 'High School Comedy' on which everything is so stereotypical that it might seem old and boring, but the truth is that Glee has evolved the way in which High School comedies work.
There is the simplicity of the characters, the cute guy, the cheerleader, the gay guy, the black girl who can sing, the guy on the wheelchair, and the teacher who tries to redeem himself from his bad decisions done in the past by creating a Glee club in a High School in Ohio.
The show reflects the issues that teenagers go through with a little spicy twist in it, teenage pregnancies, a student with gay parents, a homosexual kid in search of his father's approval, etc.
I could just go on and on about this, but all I can say is that it is worth watching the first episode.

Schon Magazine is another alternative when it comes to surfing around the web on a rainy day. This fashion photography magazine is almost brand-new, and their third issue has just come out this week. It is so fresh and different from any other fashion magazines who base their work on highly paid designers and brands, Schon on the other hand, gets collaborations from artists worldwide, you name it, models, photographers, writers, designers, etc to create a blend of global fashion and photography.
go to. http://www.nineteen74.com/magazine to be hypnotized by the magic of Schon! Magazine

When I say the name Norah Jones, rainbows and fairies come to my mind, with a blend of tea and incense smells in the air.
Norah Jones is the perfect musician to listen to on a boring Sunday. Her new album is a bit different from her usual work, but it is equally enjoyable and peaceful.
You know? I have always felt that Norah Jones has never really received enough credit throughout her career, (i mean she has won Grammy awards in the past, but what are Grammy awards nowadays, but just a shitty music prize that has been absorbed by marketing schemes and the globalisation process, just like everything else).
Ms. Jones is quite an artist, very talented and always down to earth.
I watched on tv an interview with her once, and she said her favourite thing to do was to escape from the paparrazzi and go have a milkshake with her best friend... LOVELY ISN'T SHE?
Give Norah a chance and get transported by the magic of her music to nirvana.

The Cupcake-mania!

Oh yes. After thinking about starting a blog for quite a while now, I have finally decided to do it. Not because 'everyone has a blog nowadays', but because I am a journalist and I feel that sometimes you need to try different ways of written expression in order to fulfill your soul.. no?
This week has been extremely hard but strange at the same time.
After a very very long summer holiday all around the world (yes, I went to France, Spain and Greece) my life was becoming monotonous. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE <3. to go around the world and see different cultures, ways of life.. it just rocks my world, but then... life cannot be that good, unless you are a celebrity and since I am not, I decided to come back to London, finish University and start an 'average' life.

That is why my blog is called cupcakes. As stupid as it might sound, my life is like a box full of multicoloured cupcakes.
My life is sweet, full of colour and amazing as fuck, but in order to keep it that way I need to take responsibilities, and that is why I am opening my doors to the future by trying different things in life.
This blog will discuss the everyday life of a londoner, along with my personal critique of current affairs in Music, Fashion, Film and a bit of TV. I want people to identify with the 'average' lifestyle, to embrace it and to see that there is a box of cupcakes waiting for you somewhere. YOU just have to find it in order to have a colourful, sweet life!
